My name is Lillie Yvette and I love crafting! It all started when I was about 9 years old and my mother taught me how to sew so that I could make my own barbie clothes. As I got older I continued this passion and eventually started sewing my own clothes, along with other small things that I needed. At about 26 years old I got married, my husband and I started our family and we decided to move from our home in Southern California to the beautiful island of Kauai. It was there that I was able to be a stay at home mom and raise my 4 wonderful boys. In between home schooling, gardening, and keeping up a family I discovered a love for all of the beautiful Hawaiian fabrics that the island’s culture provided. Then in February of 1996 I decided to put my love of crafting and the beauty of the Hawaiian culture to use and created my company, Island Angels. Through Island Angels I was able to use the stunning and colorful Hawaiian fabrics to make quilts, aprons and tote bags. I also found use for it when making my Angel Ornaments, as it created the perfect Hawaiian style skirt for the Island Angels.

Although adding this new business venture into our lives added to my list of things to do each day, I was supported by my loving family in pursuing it. My husband would help by hand dyeing each raffia skirt for my Grass Angels and my boys would go out and pick macadamia nuts from local trees so that I could use them for all of my Angels heads. Throughout the years our business flourished, allowing me to share my products in different stores throughout all of the Hawaiian Islands. Since the beginning years of Island Angels, my family has grown. I now have 2 new daughters-in-loves, 2 young grandsons, and 2 new grandchildren on the way. Fortunately my love for crafting, sewing, gardening and spending time with my family has only grown. I have always loved being able to make each Angel, quilt, tote bag and apron into a unique personal treasure, a memory of ones time spent on these captivating islands. Now, my hope with creating an online presence is to continue to share these unique, one of a kind creations so that the true beauty and elegance of the Hawaiian islands can be experienced anywhere in the world.
